I can't even beat this on easy
I am gona effin lose it and break something. 3 run I managed to get to the final behemoth and got completely destroyed. 4th run I got completely destroyed by the Chimera because of its double attacks and massive AOEs. I thought I was supposed to get further each time. Why am I going backwards???

Having a tank like Aegis is really useful for soaking up damage. Try having one renegade who is good with staggers (Saboteur, Commando) and use the staggers sparingly. If a monster has a stagger count of 3, use the strongest stagger you have to break him, then attack him with non stagger attacks so he can still get staggered the next round. Once they run out of their stagger limit, brace up for an attack, then their stagger count will reset and you can break again. Rinse and repeat.
Also, if you barely break a boss, you can use a stagger attack again, because it will count for the next round. Because if you barely break and leave it at that, then the next round he will attack at the very start and there's nothing you can do about it.

Tank, DPS, Stagger tends to be the winning combo for a starting group. Sometimes swap out the stagger with a support, depending on how fragile your build is. The rest of it really comes down to RNG and your ability to maniuplate the stagger meter. Takes practice, is all. I think it took me 9 attempts to clear it the first time, and I still haven't beaten it on Normal.

Went straight for normal difficulty the entire time while learning but it took me 11 tries. Gear is extremely important, try to vary it and not tunnel vision simply on damage increases alone. Sure, later on 25% bonus damage from Pyro instead of 25% total damage for everything seems less but if you can stick a burning debuff and grind through armor better you'll be better off.

It's just a hard game. I don't think I beat a run until I was about 40 hours in, and understood the value of high stagger and how it fits into each fight. I can tell you when you do beat it, it feels like you really accomplished something. It's one of those final boss fights where you feel a personal satisfaction from watching 'it' go down and flip him the bird like an insane person would.

Am i the only one that beat it at the second run? I don't find it that hard. You just need to think and plan accordingly.

i thinks it is luck based, based on item luck, enemy weaknesses and random team member (after the first 3)

try to get the extra maps for more exp and items.

Also got it on the second run. Now i'm usually playing it on Extreme, seems just hard enough to casually enjoy a run with random teams. Kinda scared to try Entropy tho

I am 57+ hours in and have died to the Chimera every single time. There seems to be no way to beat it with any combination of teams/items so there must be some trick to it. Am close to uninstalling this for the second time in disgust if someone can't describe the way to beat this impossible boss.

Have two strong stagger abilities ready. Stagger chimera untill it breaks, then stop using attacks that have stagger. This way you don't waste his stagger stacks. When his attack inevitably comes, have everyone defend and use damage mitigating abilities. Once the Chimera attacks, his stagger count resets and you can break him again. Use staggers sparingly, so you don't waste his stagger count on pointless attacks. Rinse and repeat.

So basically, only use attacks that would stagger for 40s+, then after he breaks, use abilities that only do damage and have no stagger. Repeat every round. Defend every time he attacks. Once you get through his shield, use only armor breaking attacks. Once his armor is down, he dies pretty fast. I'm enjoying this game immenesly, hope you get to this point aswell. Good luck man

in the chimera fight you have to be careful, since it goes into rage if you stager it.

i prefer 2 healer and a tank for my runs

If you stun it. You are free to stagger him as much as you want

Took me 4 tries. Would have been 3, but game crashed and I got pummeled by the last behemoth. It's doable, but you really have to plan out your turns and understand what you're doing and they're doing. Every turn was planned to try to mitigate damage and take out at least one enemy. For bosses, I defended on AoE turns, tried to preserve shields, and do what I could to have my DPS do as much damage when reasonable.

some good pointers that i think will help.

firstly- get shield upgrade shrines do not put them on your tank character, put them on your teammates with the lowest shields. you want to get them up to around 80 to 100 ish. this will allow your team to eat an aoe without too much difficulty.
secondly- build your tank to stagger and stagger only. if they are not breaking someone they are defending someone. tanks will never reach the numbers, so don't build them like that. also as a rule of thumb, it is better to break someone then guard.
thirdly-build your dps to dps. any gear that adds to % attack bonus to all or your main attack is what you want to focus on. and when they are attacking, ALways have them attacking before your opponent to crit that sweet crit damage.
fourthly- aoe is not very good till late second planet and on. aoe's with stagger, unless it's 30+ seconds will just ruin your break stacks. late game it can be quite powerful, just remember , your losing alot of dmg if your not getting the crits on the aoe.
fifthly- combo's are meh. sometimes there great for allowing you to get instant initiative, but generally your better off using two individual skills than a combo.
sixthly- define roles for your characters, it makes gearing them much easier. support or off hand dps should have something else they are good at.

i know theres more but that's a start.

I have put this to the dev's before, the characters we are given when starting this title have no syncing, and you have to, as a new player try and fail at the game until you unlock characters that synchronise. YOU NEED AEGIS, to start with, enforcer is next. I don't know, i can recommend what i would use , but everyone else will argue it. Once you understand the game, the crogenitor, will combine a lot of your favourite characters into new characters. simple. I think.

But now that i have read back that your struggling with the 2nd boss, he does group damage every 3rd damaged, aegis to absorb the group , WHEN YOU NEED IT, if you have enforcer he can stun for a turn, AND change the current move from the enemy. Changing the current move of an enemy can save you up to 3 rounds. The infiltrator can also change a turn, basically, alternate between them, the cat boss isn't a problem.
