Can you add more aircraft to a formation?

That's not possible. Only way to get larger formations is to wing up with other players.

There are hundreds of guys playing online. Im sure some of them would fly with you.

When you fly in the MEELEE (main arena) and you take bombers you can choose to take 1 or 3 bombers. You fly the lead bomber and you have 2 drones following you closely doing everything you do. If your lead bomber is destroyed you are automatically put in one of the drones. Note this is only bombers, not fighters.

Also you can join up with any other planes you see flying in the air. Say you are in B-17s, and you want to fly in formation with another plane,,, you do this: If his flying name is say DWEEB then you type .wingman dweeb then hit Enter. THEN you fly within about 500 feet on his tail and hit CONTROL W you will then get a notice you are now in Wingman Mode with him and you can stop flying, he will fly for you. So this say a whole bunch of people are in B-24 bombers, the lead guys is flying for all of the followers and they are in their gun turrets protecting the entire flight from enemy fighters.

NOTE same can be done with fighters also.
