Not really. LPEC Colonies Edition is the one that is played.

I think I had that one for the 360. Though I wonder what is the difference between the two?

Colonies has more single player and multiplayer modes, weapons and maps for multiplayer, cross-platform play between 360 and PC, rebalanced weapons, and new layouts. LPEC and LPC are not compatible with each other.

why is "colonies" review rating lower?

It uses GFWL and people would rather have Extreme Condition which doesn't use it even though there's less content

Depends on the hour. I think people typically play around 12PM PST. If you really want to play multiplayer, our group is looking into being active again on Colonies.
