For internal styles:
For active styles:
For Gu's original style choice all of them have their strong points, but I like the foot style. The basic attack causes Dizziness (which stops enemies from evading or counter-attacking) and it also gives you an AoE and Arc attack. Gu's Father's style gives you Song Yang's Devastating Grab (a really nice pull attack). The Finger style has Eight Immortals Giving Directions (a stasis attack, which is good early on, but as the game progresses enemies start getting immune to that effect) and the most energy efficient basic attack (which is good if you're making heavy use of Fighting Together and counter-attacks). The void fist style has Splashdown (three hexes in a row and Chi Shield).
Just wondering what are these skills in Chinese as I am playing in Chinese.
World-Shaking Fist
Donkey Kong Quan
Buddhist Slash
Doroje Finger
I can't help with the Chinese names, but I can tell you where to find them if that helps.
Personally I made Gu a slow moving tank, high damage output, almost impossible to kill. I am still wondering if I should replace drunken fist with windgod's kick now that I have a higher energy pool, but I still got some hours left to find out.
WHY.
Grand SSTN is optional on Gu because he just needs 5 more max dodge to get 80 in all stats, so an art that just give +5 max dodge like golden goose sutra (which you get multiple of) is enough. You can use it to power someone else if you want (Ji Wushuang, Shui Panpan, Floriculturist, Jiang Yu, Budong can learn it). Only few people can learn Congenital if Gu doesn't learn it then it's Xiao Fu or some weak guys (and Xiao Fu gets a ton of internals too, in particular No Dirge is strong). Ti Yunzong is best used on Gu and Taya (and no one else) and you get 2 copies in the game because they are slow without them, unless you want to use some other low 2 move guys for some reason in your final party (Taya is the best one for both gameplay reason and other reasons).
So basically the optimal Gu's internal is:
Xiaoyao Roc
Formless
Ti Yunzong (just learn this asap when you get the first copy)
9 yang divine art (earlier you can get from monkey rumor, he needs this first)
Congenital Art
any internal of your choice preferably the ones that increase dodge by 5
Other important things to note is, Wei Ziling also gets many internals that are unique for her or her and few others (poison related), so be careful of giving her versatile inners which everyone can use. She starts with 2 (1 gained by talking to Shenlan when you first meet her), then you get Hmong venom and Art of Heartpot. Also the inner from locked chest can only be used on her and Oman, so if you don't use Oman this will go to Wei, and therefore this is 5 inners already. This is why if you get more versatile inners such as Art of Jude or Art of Great Demon you should consider using those on someone else you like. The inner "Everything" is not that good and should prob go to Taya as it only increase energy, or goes to no one, really (or someone weak like Shen Xiangyun who naturally lack inners). In my game I gave Wei "Golden Snake" I dont remember who can learn that, it might be versatile but I use it a lot since I think it is better than her default inners before Art of heartpot.
LMAO my thoughts exactly
And because I didn't learn Flaming Blade I am thus locked out of learning Buddhist Slash?
EDIT: Maybe the source I'm using is mistaken and its actually a later monk fight (in a different forest) that you learn it from.
