That said, like much of the game, the 'ending' of Yume Nikki is, to an extent, what you make of it. How each player approaches and understands the ending is informed by what matters to each player.
If you want to get into opinions, I don't see the ending scene of the game as an inevitability, but rather a choice that the player has to consciously choose to undertake. Others see the ending as the last of a series of canonical events.
Further, what you make of the ending scene itself will have different implications, depending on how literally you want to read the game.
There is only one ending scene, but what you make of the events and images of the ending is up to you.
