Are there any cheat codes for this game?
It's pretty boring/hard trying to hunt for effects and your character walks pretty slow. Looking for some cheat codes to unlock all the effects or maybe like a minimap so I don't get lost.

go into the door that has the colorful tiles that make sound. find the face of the monkey goddess, then follow the line of tiles to the effect that you'll need.
if you sit in the chair in your dream, equip that effect, then unequip it and get off, youll be extra fast!

The ♥♥♥♥? This is 'Can we skip bosses' levels of lazy.
The meat of the game is aimless wandering. Its supposed to be slow and boring. If you want to go through the game fast look up the wiki you lazy ♥♥♥♥ and find the bicycle effect. You aren't going to enjoy it either way, might as well just read the wiki and have a better experience.

Yume Nikki isn't for you if you find it boring. The majority of the game is appreciating the atmosphere and designs of the dream areas; there are no fights or spectacles. I can sit in one area for over 30 minutes and soak up the music and design, and I have friends who have fallen asleep to the various areas in the game. It's a cult classic but it's a little niche; you might have more of a fun time with something else. No offense.

Yeah, there's a cheat code. Go into the main menu, and press Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, A, B, Enter, and you will start the game with one health and one Effect. You will also be at the final area of the game.

If you really care that much about speeding through the game you could look up how to do the 16x speed glitch with the bicycle and the desk chair. It kind of ruins the point of the game though, honestly.

There are no cheat codes as far as I know. And the game doesn't need them anyway!

The closest you get is the bicycle effect that makes you twice as fast, and small beneficial glitches you can trigger, like the speed glitches mentioned. If I recall there are two, the super speed glitch and the hyper speed glitch. The latter is easier, as you need to sit in the chair in the dream bedroom and equip bycicle then leave the chair. the sprite is default but the game thinks you have the bycicle equipped. however changing or de-equiping will cancel the glitch.

as for the hyperspeed one... man, i dont remember haha, it's harder. besides, it makes you go SO fast you actually can't control the player so it's not all that great.

But the game is not about a storyline or anything linear really, it's about the things you see and how you interpret the things you see. If that's not your cup of tea, then maybe it's not the game for you, no offense. but kudos for at least giving it a try! uvu

Oh god you're right. I had forgotten about that one. XD

Yet it's more of a purposital cheat code as a reference to the old Konami cheat so yeah.

You can look for 100% saves I guess but old ones are incompatibile with steam version so you would need to download older one or wait for steam save.
