If you're issue is just with semantics then that's fair enough. I agree with you. I just don't see an issue with using the term nonbinary.
I'm also not implying that she is exclusively nonbinary. As I originally stated I see her as a famale. But as I also stated she is, before anything else, an avatar for people to project whatever they want on. I personally think it's the entire point of the game.
But there is enough, as you say, ambiguity for someone to believe that she doesn't identify with any gender. However it would be wrong of them to say that there's absolutely no way she identifies as male/female, just as it would be wrong for someone to say there's no way she doesn't identify as nonbinary.
I have more problems than that with the whole "Mado is nonbinary" theory but my point here is that even in context of the theory saying that Mado is nonbinary instead of ambigious (possibly intentionally) is wrong.
Blood is blood. Rod shapes are rod shapes. Bloated abdomens could mean pregnancy, but that is against transgenderism as transgender people cannot birth. It seems like a theory with no grain. Even still, theories are irrelevant as the game has no story.
This is confirmed by the original creator, and I have links to prove it, here.[translate.googleusercontent.com]
