Multi-classing is important to do for some classes when you get tired of not having enough spell points or how the Sorcerer class somehow takes forever to regain spell points when resting but changing to a sage cures that somehow. Its a bizarre game and one that requires some research to make the best decisions in choosing and multi-classing your characters as well as the skills and which ones to add points to early on.
I wish I had someone with ancient history, but now it will take forever to level up anyone enough to add to the skill, my best guy has a 9 in ancient history and that low of a skill is useless for what I need to do.
The game is forgiving enough though, you can still progress without having to have the very best characters you can possibly make.
