How To Hit Creatures Vulnerable To Magic Weapons Only
You have to find weapons marked as "magical" or else locate a shrine and ENCHANT an existing weapon. Any weapon that has has been enchanted at a Shrine will have a glowing cross in the lower right corner. This kind of enchantment will vanish when you kill a creature with this weapon. Until then it can be used to hit any enchanted monster. If you look around and examine the weapons you find, you will stumble across many weapons that are MAGICAL to hit monsters like ghosts and mythical creatures. The Bone Dagger is one of the earliest weapons you find like this.

I've enchanted a broad axe and I've killed tons of enemies with it but the enchantment has yet to expire.

I found the bone dagger (cursed item) in one of my playthroughs but, strangely, it disappeared from my inventory after killing a 'normal' creature with it... is this how it's supposed to work?

Moreover,
I have a thread created regarding hand-to-hand combat. One of the questions there is, how can an unarmed dedicated character attack creatures that need magical weapons?

enchant your fistst j/k
i remember this mechanic from d&d games, where ice trolls could be only harmed with magic imbued weapons, or fire! such as fire spells, flaming oil projectiles, or fire swords otherwise they would regenerate.
it would be cool if there was holy water projectiles against spirits vampires etc. i remember there was one against boss though.

Since you mentioned d&d, monk's fists counted as enchanted after a certain level in OD&D .. it would be cool if this was valid in this game as well -after a certain level- as it would enable monk-style usage of characters.

That's actually a very interesting idea. I think that is going to change in the next update. Very interesting point for characters who specialize in hand-to-hand. I used to play monks a lot in D&D and they could hit enchanted creatures at higher levels.

Thank you. Even considering about it means a lot.

Enchant Weapon spell with Cleric, etc works. It can last for several battles at max level. It's how I killed the ghosts with bare-hand saurian berserkers. However, its unlikely you have that spell by the time you fight the ghosts, unless you grinded a little bit. But after you get it, problem solved.

If you started at the Sanctuary, the Star Gauntlet has the "magical" property on it, and hits like a bus to boot.

Great to know. Thanks!

At the moment I play with a party I call 'darklings' consisting only of nagas, saurians, vampires all unarmed.

Powerstrikes for high damage and bites for special effects is my way to go. Only thing missing is the enchantment. I think my naga cleric needs to grind a bit more :)

I think unarmed characters with Enchanted Weapon spell is a good combination to hit magic creatures with bare hand attacks. May still make higher level Ironstrike into a default magic attack anyway.

Enchanted blade is cleric only spell. We shouldnt force people to always have cleric in party to progress.

Also, are there magic-immune monsters who are also immune to non-magic weapons?

There are now at least 4 ways to enchant weapons or make them hit magical creatures in addition to finding magical weapons to use in combat. This is a lot. The cleric has many unique spells that make them useful in a party, Enchanted Weapon is one of them.

My Bard learned it as well. Not sure if other classes can. Haven't tried Wizard. It's in astra category, so I'm thinking lots of spell learning classes get it eventually. It's not a super high level spell. Cleric just gets it the earliest.

Because Bard gets access to cleric spells.
