This game was made from one dude. You do realize most games have a dedicated sound engineer or developer for a game. Yes the audio is terrible. Yes the audio is old school. Yes it is repititve, but it is one guy making it. I am sure Cleve doesn't have access to a state of the art sound studio, and probably doesn't have the sound tools to make high end audio..
You can get a compass like thing with magic.
indeed it would be best if grimoire had some moding possibility especially for basic sound effects and character portraits.
i saw grimoire early beta portraits and these were pixelated. this photoshoped type of portraits more fit games like m&m that uses real 3d imo.
i havent played real old school game (dos era) for very long time,
maybe more than 5 years.
this game can be only vital bastion of dungeon blobbers with still going on updates and active community,
in fact there aren't many classic blobbers on steam outside wizardry, stonekeep and dragon wars.
i'm using specifically term "blobbers" because these are only wizardry like games with 1 screen movement, and party in the form of a screen. the term was popularised by clave himself and i think is good way to distinguish it from other isometric roguelike dungeon crawlers that are plenty of on steam.
make sure to tag any steam game with 1st person view, 1 frame screen movement, party as a form of screen: "dungeon blobber", make blobbers great again.
customization is also reason why i loved classic rpgs such as bg, you could change sounds and portraits to yourself for example lol.
don't look on my steam playtime the most games i played on cds or floppy.
the another reason why i'm hesitant to get it or not it's because of digital version of game, for digital game it cost a lot but when i think about it how much time you put in making it, makes sense but still, hmm, decisions, decisions. anyway i will follow grimoire updates and see if anything changes in the future. gl with your project.
Yep.
If you think that you are a liar. There are plenty of examples where honest responses recieved legitimate attention by Cleve as well as others here.
Why don't you just find a hole and crawl back into it dumb animal.
