Are necromancers useless?

I created an vamphyr necromancer and he is the worst character in my party by a huge difference, dies with an single hit(and since the manual don't say anything about how to ressurect and cure disease, i an forced to reload), has half of hp than the second worst in hp party member(only 7 at lv 3, my cleric has 15), has the worst spells in damage, that never succeed on their and save, no supporting or healing spells and require almost 2x more XP than other party members. On M&M VIII, was the most powerful class an little OP.

I an really considering start over again just to not have an vamphyr necromancer.

Necromancers are awesome. However, if you have a vamphyr, their stats are reduced in sunlight but 50%.

I had a feyfolk necromancer and he was great. Good mp regen, nice damage spells, and his instakill spells landed fairly often.

They're very good, and I'd highly recommend one if you don't plan on multi-classing your party.

If you don't plan on multi-classing, then you should put bonus points into HP (IMHO).

Thanks. I forget about the 50%. It destroys the chance of hitting with necro spells.

Anyway, i found an city, but no clue about how i sell/purchase items, tried to talk to 3 NPC's and nothing. The game is good, don't get me wrong, i don't know how to play the game, is my fault that i an having an bad time.

I think your problem is rather related to the Vamphyr race rather than the class. I have a necromancer in level 5 or 6 now and I am very happy for him. His Crushing Hand and Summon Undead spells are awesome.
