The HD Remake is in Version 1.36 good polished and Bugfree.
You mentioned playing M&M6. If you haven't played them, 3 and 4+5 (known as World of Xeen when installed together) are a must, and 7 faithfully continued the gameplay feel of 6.
When it comes to Wizardry, 8 was actually my favorite, despite the general dislike for it.
Since EotB has already been mentioned, also consider the Forgotten Realms Collection sets that contain Menzoberranzan and (if you like procedural generation with literally no story) Dungeon Hack.
Playing Wizardry 6-8 would be an obvious starting point, then. Everyone waiting for Grimoire who hasn't played those should do so, especially 7. Opinion on 8 is a bit mixed among Wizardry fans but I like it. It's different than 6+7 but just as good in its own way. You probably want a mod speeding up combat animations, though.
Earlier wizardries are again a bit different but still wort playing. Especially Wizardry 5 which is regarded as better than 6-8 by some.
If Wizardry 5 is up your alley, go and try Elminage: Gothic.
Realm of Arkania games are great, too. Can't talk about the HD remake Endamon mentioned but the classic games still work well and look fine.
I was planning to replay them for ages now but still didn't get around actually doing so. However I remember them being quite hard, though.
Speaking of hard, if you thought Wizardry 5 and RoA were a breeze and didn't have nearly enough random encounters the classic Bard's Tale games might be worth a look as well.
Realms of Arkania 2 (original, not remake)
Might & Magic X, 3,4 maybe 6
Lords of Xulima
Real time:
Eye of the Beholder 2
Dungeon Master
Stonekeep
It is good, but it is a pale comparison to Wiz 7. While I enjoyed it, many of us were disappointed with it when it came out.
Just start with Wizardry 6, finish and transfer team to the Wizardry 7. Then finish it and transfer team to the Wizardry 8.
Then you can come back and see if there was any release (most likely won't).
Bonus for playing Wizards&Warriors (2001).
This precious gem was completely under my radar until the very 2013, when after having kept a copy of it on my HDD for more than half a year I finally got around playing it, when out of boredom and having nothing else to play I discovered it in my downloads (I had to pirate it at first) and decided to install it, like to just give it a try, still can't forgive myself for such ignorance! You may disbelieve me, but since 26th of August 2013 there was no other game for me but Wizardry 8, I had been playing it 2-3 hours a day every day until I finally completed it, which was on 8th of March, 2014, at 0:58, and I did another two walkthroughs since then, thus scoring 600+ hours of play time.
I hope GRIMOIRE turns out to be at least as delightful experience as Wizardry 8 was for me, this is why I am so devoted beclever! Wizardry 8 was my first dungeon crawler by the way, before that I even didn't know this is a genre and I would like it.
Also, why do people say Wizardry 6&7 are so much superior to Wizardry 8, I mean can you point out for what particular aspects that holds (and why), or they are superior just because they are more hardcore and old-school and feature grid-based movement?
I might also suggest The Quest, here on Steam.

It's a single-character blobber. Not too heavy on the mechanics. But there seems to be a lot of content in it.
I think it got a re-release, here, with a big facelift & such.
Oh yeah, sure... I will get right on that one, just after I enter puberty and put down the Sears catalogue. /facepalm
Wizardry 8 was done by a new team and it lacks the inspiration and immersive qualities of 6/7, Compared to those, it's bland and mediocre. Compared to most games today, it's pretty good though.
