Where is the first game?

I played half of it before many years ago an it seemed fine.

I think the ps3 version is fine now, I played through after getting the update with no issues.

It's fairly lackluster in comparison to The 2nd Runner, and realistically there's only a couple of ties to the first game - you can go into this completely blind and it will (to an extent) make sense.

Well, if there's no convincing you then you can either:

-Play it via original PS2 / PCSX2 emulator (I'd recommend avoiding emulation until you
absolutely have to; at least buy a copy of the game)

or

-Play it via the PS3/X360 HD Collection (which, has technical issues but Zone of the Enders is fine for the most part).
That's all you've got unless KONAMI are going to get Cygames to do a port of that - which I don't think they will)

Those are your two options.

To be fair, the first game is basically a 2 hour prototype Konami decided to release with their MGS demo back in the day.

Nah, to me it feels more like a tech demo expanded into a full, but very short, game.
Sort of like a Katamari Damacy or a Stretch Panic or whatever.

And it's typically closer to 3.5 or 4 hours. It can be a lot shorter if you know how to play and what to do, and it can be longer if someone goes in not knowing how to play and isn't in any kind of hurry at all.
