Needs a stand alone VR option!
Why isn't there an option to choose between regular and VR when you launch the game? Seems like a no brainer thing to have these days.

Doesn't it already ask? Whenever I boot the game up it'll ask whether I'd like to play standardly or in VR.

The problem is that we have to launch the game without the headset and wait for the prompt. Besides, we can't launch it when in VR because it's not listed as a VR game :/.

Guys, why not post something you like / positive. I'm very sorry you have to click one time before putting on your headset. You really have a tough life guys LMAO

Do you have to disconnect the headset or is it enough to just shut down the Oculus software system before clicking it again?

It's a cool VR port so far, but VR players gotta jump through a few hoops to get it working in VR currently- and as far as I know, the steps aren't oficially documented anywhere.

You gotta
1) Open the game 'properties' menu and uncheck the 'start in desktop VR' box
2) Start SteamVR.
3) Start ZOE2 from your desktop (it can't be started from inside the headset like a 'normal' VR game can). then click through a prompt that says "this game does not support VR"
3) Wait 5+ minutes for the opening video to play
4) Then you can tell the game to go in VR mode

It's fantastic that they've got VR mode here at all, and the 'decide if VR at the main menu' shceme makes sense for the PSVR version (I tried the demo there first), but the SteamVR implimentation could use some serious polish.

All I did was launch the game by right click and picking launch game from my library ( didn't say VR in the the menu option at right click ). It did make me click accept to something but then an option that asked play in VR mode I think. I then put headset on and no issues so far. Runs incredible. This is also my first playthrough ever so enjoying for the first time :)

Seriously? Because it does not give me that option, it will just automatically start up in VR and I don't want to play it in VR. Even after plugging everything it still starts up SteamVR and Oculus, but the game will run correctly on my monitor and speakers. Why would I not get this prompt? Doesn't make sense.

JP Saak's instructions worked for me, thanks.

Okay I see now, it asks for you to enable VR features once in the game. What I was talking about is a choice between VR or regular before even launching the game. Just like Redout does.

It would auto start in VR before for me because I had SteamVR checked off to auto start, and the game properties also was checked to start that Desktop game theater thing.
