Crashing at LEV scene - what fixed it for me
Both the demo and the retail versions of ZoE2 were crashing during the opening cutscene, and if skipped, during the LEV gameplay segment. Turns out, what was causing the crashes on my system is having ZoE2 installed on a separate HDD.

I have Steam installed on my D:/, and ZoE2 was installed on my E:/. Moving ZoE2 over to my D:/ fixed the problem.

Hopefully this helps anyone having the same or similar issues.

This is the dumbest thing, but yeah, it worked for me too. My Steam Library was on a different SSD than my actual Steam program, but installing it on the same SSD as Steam got it to run fine.

I've had a few games do that to me in the past (Tomb Raider Legacy/Anniversary, For Honor, Ghost Recon Wildlands), dunno what the exact reason behind it is though. What tipped me off was an error message while in big picture saying ZoE2:Mars couldn't find a Steam related .dll that was definitely there when I checked the directory.
