Targeting and tech?
So the tech tree is dense and difficult to keep track of. Is there anything that helps project targeting? cause as it is anything beyond firing your rail gun when your target planet is coming into a head on collision seems like a crap shoot.
It talks about stealth for cities and mines but you seem lucky to even hit the planet let alone trying to actually hit a building.

Hello,

Missiles have an upgrade in the tech tree that increases their planet lock-on distance. So with that your aim can be less precise and they'll still find the planet. But other than that, I'm not aware of any other tech tree upgrades that help with aiming at planets.

Best thing to do is, instead of aiming straight at the planet like a sniper, aim well off to the side and let the trajectory curve into the planet. Try to mirror the planet's orbital path right around the impact point. Even then it can be difficult to get a good shot when they're on the opposite side of the solar system, so try not to be discouraged by that situation. But in general, if you work with the gravitational curves instead of against them, it should seem more like a planet shoot than a crap shoot lol.

Also, by design Railguns are a crap shoot once they hit the planet no matter what you do. That's because they don't let you aim at specific enemy buildings, they just land wherever and if something gets hit then yay. If you want to aim at specific enemy buildings (at which point intel and counter-intel/stealth come into play), then you'll want to use Missiles, Coilcannons, or Lasers instead.

I hope that helps!
