Power Grids not Reconnecting
Power lines that appear connected with the yellow line are not actually powered. I tried to disconnect and reconnect the lines and they are not powering my buildings. I attached a screenshot below to help.

Thanks for reporting. Shouldn't be a huge thing to fix.

Thanks for the quick response. The bug happens when the lines get disconnected and you attempt to reconnect them.

Any luck figuring this out? The problem appears when the power was destroyed by another player and you try to replace it. I would also like if the number on the notification indicator for unpowered buildings reduced once a building is re-powered.

Thanks for the details, we should have this figured out, but still haven't had time to do anything about it. A fix should be in one of the upcoming updates, but there are a lot of things that are a bit higher priority for now.

Not sure how this bug is low priority, loss of power for buildings that are technically powered substantially affects all areas of gameplay, both offense and defense.

In the first picture above my city is left undefended, even though the kinetic defense is connected to a solar plant. In the second picture my offensive capabilities are crippled and I am unable to use my laser, even though it too is connected to a solar plant.

There seems to have been a misunderstanding. In the images you sent, the buildings are not supposed to be powered since your Solar Plant is not finished yet. It is still in the Construction Yard-phase, as seen by its icon.

The bug, as we understood, is simply that the lines are the wrong color and can cause confusion. Of course, this is something that we'd want to get fixed as soon as we can, but putting it next to actual game breaking bugs, it's lower on the list.

I've experienced this and it happens when a building is forcefully removed from the grid. In this case connecting it to buildings that already have power doesn't power it and building a new building to connect it with power didn't work either. I had to sell it and recreate the building.

Were you unable to get the building powered even on the next turn? Also, just to make sure, were the power plants on the grid actual power plants and not construction yards, as in the pictures? Construction Yards do not generate power.

We haven't been able to replicate this, so either it's a weird fluke or it got fixed at some point. We're about to put out a patch in a moment that should make the line colors less misleading, by the way.

I can confirm TJR. Not the first time, but I had thought it a known issue.

Parrell construction of weapons and power buildings led to the three weapons being unpowered, despite being explicitly connected to the power grid. Forced disconnect, manually reconnected. No change. Disconnect it, and the station nearby powering the defenses. Reconnect those nearby with the second station. No change. Worthy of note, is that while initially the weapon platforms have the slow pulse of the lightning (the usually indicator that it's unconnected) it goes away when connecting it to ligitimate power sources, while remaining inoperable.

I cannot recall if there is a specific types of weapon platforms that the issue happens with.

I hope this helps resolve the problem.

Thanks for the extra info. Just to confirm, is this still happening with the latest patch? If it happens again, would it be possible to save the game and send the save to us so we can see what's causing it? No luck replicating this still, unfortunately.

You can send your saves to support@teamjollyroger.com

It was indeed on the latest build. At this time, I don't have any saves, but if it does reoccur, I'll send a save over.
