Its weird though cos the genre itself is popular with women and you'd assume this sort of plot and art style would be a typical 'girly game'. So i wouldn't be surprised if it was popular with a lot of female players too, even if it wasn't really designed to be. I mean, I'm a fan of the series, at least!
I usually make my girl super strong, and ended up being a hero, then I try to make her perfect so she becomes a ruler. Just marrying into royality to become a princess through beauty and charm is unappealing for me expecially when your daughter barely knows the guy.
(There is a game app series which is somewhat similar to Princess Maker. Love Story: Magical Princess 'dating & life sim' you can raise a Daughter or a Son *Costs 9.99 to unlock boy while girl is free* and be a Mama or a Papa. Love Story: Legendary Twins 'anime sweetheart' you can raise a Daughter or a Son *Costs 0.99 to unlock boy while girl is free* and be a Mama or a Papa. The developer is CatCap Studio.)
there are man playing this game too ♥ ^^
