Why should pichting outside leg make any difference?
Is the delivery fair?
Did the ball hit the pads first?
Did the delivery pitch inside the line of leg stump?
Did the ball impact with the batsman’s pads between wicket and wicket?
Would the ball have gone on to hit the stumps?
None of that answers my question.
Why should pichting outside leg make any difference?
i think you are new to the game of cricket.
if a ball pitches outside the leg stump - then a batsman cannot be out LBW.
if you want to know the reasoning behind it - then you should google about the LBW rules.they have evolved over a long period of time to best suit the game. its a lot easier to rap a batsman on the pads if you bowl at an angle from outside his leg stump - and it also encourages a negative bowling style.to avoid that sort of cricket - this rule came in place. this rule is almost as old as cricket itself - so i have no idea how you could be unaware of this .
A negative bowling style , that is just people opinions.
its a lot easier to rap a batsman on the pads if you bowl at an angle from outside his leg stump
what is wrong with that?
big ant dont make cricket laws. they just make a game based on cricket. they didnt make this rule. so this is not something they can "fix" .
as for what is wrong with that - it makes the game more boring to see the bowlers bowling around the wicket and trying to hit the batsman on the pads rather than try to bowl him out.
and as for shane warne's ball of the century - it was ball of the century because he bowled the batsman out.
bowling around the legs is an achievement only because of how hard it is - considering it beats the batsman's pads and hits the stumps.
there are thousands of such deliveries hitting the pads of the batsmen and the bowlers cant appeal for it. they would all be out if this rule wasnt in place.
it would definitely make cricket very boring.
They don't have to follow icc cricket rules.
Games based on dungeons and dragons don't follow all dungeons and dragons rules.
Fifa 19 does not give the attacking player the benefit of the doubt for offside like the real game does.
Fifa 19 also has many modes where the rules are not the same as the real game.
There would not be outrage it would be a welcomed change.
If you google it many people ask why is it not out if pichting outside leg and many articles support changing the rules.
