Actual 2-player game?

Hi there. i've played a lot of this game solo and my kid is interested in playing versus me. We tried playing 2 player hot-seat, but there's all this stuff about a pawn 3rd person controlled by whichever player is in the lead or something.

This game mechanic is confusing and irritating to us. We just want to play a 2-player game. we play lots of board games and 2-player computer games co-op or versus. Does Tokaido not have an actual 2-player game mode?

Hello,

Tokaido has been designed as a boardgame to be played with a pawn controlled by the 2 players, so the videogame follows this rule.
There is no 2 players mod without this pawn but you can play as 2 humans players and add only 1 AI in the Pass & Play mod.
