Main villain discussion. (SPOILERS)

I'm curious, did anyone figure out who alphard is before the reveal? I didnt and i thought she is one of the most well hidden villains.

so far i have found 2 hints suggesting "canaan" is alphard.
-real canaan's face was hidden in the flashbacks.
-"canaan" came out of nowhere and saved hitomi from the exploding blue van. I thought that was just bad writing. Turns out she knew an explosion is going to happen because shes the mastermind.

I noticed that someone got Hitomi's blood after explosion, but didn't manage to add that up later with other facts. And at the moment of explosion you don't know that Alphard's after Hitomi's blood. But that's a solid clue.

When Maria collapses as soon as Caanan enters the room. You also hear a hitting sound. I expected the game would address this, but it didn't.

It's written in such a way that you get the impression that Canaan noticed Maria collapsing and immediately rushed into the room.

I figured it out but only because I went meta.
Game: Alphard is Leland Palmer!
Me: Who? Oh, I think I remember that guy. If this is is Alphard then that is a terrible plot twist. Everything in the game up to this point has been far better than this. This can't be the real Alphard. For one thing the real Alphard should be female since they make a point of referring to Alphard as "he" all the time so a female would be a good surprise. Of the female characters in the game, Canaan is the only one that works as a good reveal. I bet it's going to end up being her.
If the fake Alphard had been a more convincing candidate, I probably wouldn't have suspected anything though. :)

There's one thing that they keep repeating throughout the game - "not even Alphard's gender is known". Whenever such phrasing is used, it's usually a woman. But I didn't see Canaan coming, I thought I was smart for figuring out that Leland was Alphard.

the catsuitwoman being maria was very predictable so leland being alphard seemed plausible to me.

There was one clue that's mentioned at the end - when Kano/Canaan saves Maria from Tateno on the rooftop, she literally just runs down the stairs. At the time, I thought that was super weird...like why would you just run away when your friend just saved you??

Just finished recently. I thought it was Suzune. I mean yeah, international terrorist tied to their bed is not very plausible, but hey, it's a Spike chunsoft game, I've seen crazier than this. She could have an army of henchmen doing dirty work for her for all I know. Suzune also had a clear motive (she desperately needs Maria's heart) and Achi kept reminding the viewer how smart his sister is. Agree, real alphard was well hidden.
