Heavy armor burst rifle build
Hey i wanted to try a new playthrough with an MC focused on burst rifle and armor (beacause it's a kind of character i like) and im not too sure if burst rifle is viable compared to dodge this rifle build.

With scoped rifle crit build you have perfect accuracy, good reaction, you do big damage and can knockdown opponents and you're sure to damage heavily armored enemies.
One burst per turn does not seem very usefull compared to an aimed shot from a scoped rifle plus it costs way more ammo without doing more damage and is less accurate even with high recoil handling so i wonder what a burst rifle brings to the table to justify using it. Looks like SMG are better for burst build but im not an SMG guy :)
Can CS Vets give me some tips about it ?

Burst rifles have better damage compared to SMGs. Rifles are more suitable for regular shot bursts, while SMGs specialise in grazes.

Ideally you want a high STR character for the recoil control. You'll most likely fire one burst per turn, and your job will be to get shot at while wearing heavy armour.

You can try a 10/12/6/4/4/6 build with Healing Factor and the Regen stim.

Recommended feats:
- Controlled Burst
- Armored Warfare
- Tough Bastard
- True Grit
- Guns, Lots of Guns
+ Any utility feats you might like, such as Slow Metabolism (will make you unkillable), Fast Draw, Charger or Personal Magnetism.

The difference between this and a crit build is that while you will deal less damage than a full sniper build in the endgame, you are very, very tanky.

With this build and the lack of feat like Big game hunter will i be able to do any damage against late game enemies ?

Of course, especially with energy weapons. Rifles have substantial base damage and good penetration.

It will be less than a crit build, but this allows for decent damage while also being unkillable.

Just a quick question why Guns, Lots of Guns ? For the skill bonus ? Or Reaction ?

It's one of the few ways to get extra accuracy, and reaction's never bad. The Rifleman feat is pretty bad since you're not investing into crit at all.

I guess you can skip it if you like, it's not high on the priority list. What I gave were just feats I thought would synergise with the build -- you don't have to follow it to the letter.

Ok if i need more accuracy i might take it, i have another question do you think it is worth to take educated on this character to squeeze myb another level by the end and to tag armor ?

Educated is pretty much always worth it on all characters, moreso if you have low INT.
