How the heck to stealth in Land of the Blind? (Minimum stealth levels/perks?)

I'm in the Habitat maintenance area and I'm trying to understand what the heck to do in the Land of the Blind mission.

I talked with Shadow and entered the stealth section. My sneaky character is Faythe (character level 4, Sneak level 6, with the Prowler perk). I have no stealth-boosting items because I never use stealth except to break into homes while people are asleep to loot their stuff.

In the stealth run, there appears to be no way for me to avoid the first two cameras on either side of the room when I enter. If I stand anywhere in the initial green tiles, the entire periphery of possible movements is red. I cannot get around the glass tank (or whatever the things in the room are) to advance through the room without being seen by these cameras and insta-failing the mission.

I've seen other posts on this topic that say a patch overhaul of the stealth mechanics made this mission harder, but it's not clear how best to beat it under the new mechanics.

yes is one of the most annoying quests. it took me 10 times or more to figure it out lol.

Sneak 6 with Prowler should be enough to sneak by with Faythe. Check if you have armour with sneak penalties that reduce your ability to sneak.

Fffs have a stealth gadget with you is that to much to ask for ?! and you don't need to make it out just to make it in(reach the tank get the eye and what ever else you can before you get detected and run out of there) and for that 6sneak+prowler&stealth gadget on Faythe is plenty...

Thanks. I will take a look at my equipped item stats. Never thought about penalties from equipment since I never use the stealth.

Lol that's some hostility. I have never seen a "stealth gadget" in all of the crates I've looted so far. I just looked at the wiki and see there is an item called a cloaking field, but the only one in the Habitat is behind an impenetrable wall of red stealth tiles (the irony).

Yeah, to reiterate Wrath's comment – the quest is fully optional. You can still get past the door without the Eye (Shadow has some... creative ideas).

You probably should have picked up a cloaking field fairly early in Act 1, as an FYI. They are fairly common, but the least common of the three gadgets I found.

As skaudus said though, the biggest culprit is probably any Chest/Jacket/Boots you have with stealth and noise penalties on them.
