Eye&cortex id rate as top tier in any context while subliminal&data jack under specific circumstances can be also be solid picks... while dermal is a no brainer for any build that chooses to discard evasion.
Don't get me wrong the heart when stacked with the heroic con perk can&will absolutely be amazing in combat but as stand alone both it and the spinal implants tend to lag far behind what the other implants can provide especially when it comes to upgrade chips.
The heart is primarily for hp regen. Most combats are 5+ rounds. 25+ hp is a massive boost. Being able to wear other helmets and gas grenade yourself is just a bonus.
How so for armor. The best non heavy armor is something like 6 dr from torso + 3 from jacket while mk2 armor gives you 12 dr. And jackets don't cover your legs.
Wrong, top of the line medium armor is enforced tactical vest+fighting chance 10DR total and the arms are also 10DR as for the legs only after this last patch has the DR gone down to a 9.
https://imgur.com/TnpPKE8.png <-- this is how good top of the line medium armor can get(it can be even better if stacked with the dermal implant upgrade) so by all means this is plenty to justify sticking with just medium armor even as a tank build if used in conjunction with an energy shield that piles on another 5DR on top of all that.
Yeah clearly, but last time i checked subtraction by 2 wasn't exactly that difficult to do in order to see that indeed even at base line values the average armor DR value is at 10 for everything but the legs...so my point stands: top of the line medium armor is only about 2DR bellow top of the line heavy armor.
PS: not saying that having heavy armor is bad simply stating that medium armor is not all that far behind for it to be an issue if skipping the whole 'must get spinal implant&armored warfare so my troops make it out alive' kind of a deal breaker situation.
Fair enough. I always kill Gideon as it seems like a waste of exp otherwise. The skin's implant is nice, but requires biotech 9. And I generally just don't tag biotech.
