Report a translation problem
Mine is that during the long transit and the Mutiny and chaos that followed - the ship was boarded by a small group of skinchanging aliens who integrated themselfs into the spciety for unknown reasons. Maybe they were fugitives who were hiding from something - we dont know. They went into the fight, obviously their abilities were way above monks. But physical contraints of mercs bodies didnt allow them to show off in full. Besides it would be too suspicious if they managed the monks on their own. So after their current husks "died" they left. They ll find another.
