And is positively impossible to find anywhere other then right at start of the char creation menu... oh the inhumanity of it all
If only it existed and had some kind of obvious description, something that would imply the player wanted to feel almost 'heroic' while playing. Alas.
Just 'minor' $hit like this https://imgur.com/hx1YE0D.png
I hope you catch my drift and I still stand by my statement. Level progression is extremely slow, hence feats are limited, combat encounters are more often than not very hard when you meet more people, regardless your gear. Can't get more followers, going with only 2 people. Anyway, have fun guys but surely the game would appeal to a wider audience if it wasn't impossible at times.
"Proudly serving 0.003% of the Global Gaming Market since 2015. The remaining 99.997% need not apply."
on the iron tower website you would have a very good point
However, I guess every game these days need a "story" difficulty mode where it is almost impossible to lose. I know the dev is adamant of having "curated difficulty" but they need to understand that certain gamers are just bad and need a built in cheat code (not to sound disrespectful but it is what it is and there is nothing wrong at being bad). I knew a game which got review bombed because it blocks cheat engine, what it shows is that there are people who simply need to trivialize a game to enjoy it.
Please, check out this vid, NKB says it very, very well.
No game needs an easy mode, but this one has one, and when I see how much it tips the balance in your favour, I don't get why one would play it, the game where intended experience is supposed to be hard, grimy, dangerous, and you should want to find ways to avoid combat where it gets too hard (and you do get that option almost all the time). Also, you're not supposed to be able to do every quest and every encounter with the same character, you're not a hero (unless you play on a super-easy Hero), and if your character is not a skilled combatant, then you shouldn't take quests for mercenaries/bounty hunters/etc, instead take ones where you negotiate, steal, repair stuff and so on.
Shared, hardcore experience is a part of this community, and no, we're not gatekeeping, if you have any problems then just post your build or your combat/quest problems and you'll get 10-20 people that will try to help you with that and make you learn more the very same day. We love to help, discuss builds and tactics, alternative routes, and we love when people try the game, most of us just don't like when others would want to change the core gameplay so it'd suit them more, we can help with the game as is, but we don't want to be a part of the industry that treats gamers like idiots/children.
Well, it's a game that is very much an antithesis of power fantasy, and most people go for it because of that. Here your life is constantly in danger, there's no hope, no future, no heroes, just survival, and giving you superpowers would be undermining the very core of the game. There's few games like this, Underrail or Kenshi come to mind too, and yeah, these are niche products, but they shouldn't be changed because someone would like a power fantasy. There's already a very easy "Hero" mode, that imo isn't needed, but if it helps with the sales, then okay, maybe players will try it, learn a little about the game's systems, and then try the intended experience later on.
- PC Party: Skill gain +100%.
- PC Party: Accuracy +30, minimum Accuracy increased to 25.
- Enemies: Accuracy -35, if Party Member is under 50% HP, Accuracy -70, Critical Chance limited to 5%.
- Death timer is 5 turns (instead of 2).
- Better starting gear.
This is crazy btw, you should rename this mode to "Exploration", then add middle mode "Medium Challange" that is like 70% of the current Underdog and then Underdog itself rename to "Difficult" or something like that. I imagne more people would try the game thanks to this.
We'll be adding a custom difficulty option for an upcoming update.
