In addition, the Faction companions cannot enter the Habitat or Maintenance deck, so you won't be able to do the quests there with them.
How bad it is if you just use all of the starting companions and then replace them later? Is that a lot of wasted xp?
For combat I guess you better use max party with lower level.
Nah, it's okay. The Faction companions are extremely powerful, and you can replace whomever is your weakest link and still have a big power spike.
