Depends how you play but I would say 15h-20h

There are a couple of roots that are mutually exclusive but most content can be seen in a single play through....

You can spend a lot more or a lot less time depending on how much you focus on combat. It can be quite challenging and might require experimenting with builds. Not as complex as lets say underrail or really old RPG games but a lot more complex than what mainstream companies but out nowadays.
You can play the game as a diplomat skipping all combat there is even an achievement for that. Such a play through will be a lot shorter 12h if you get all the content you can some side missions require combat and I guess 8 if you only follow the main quest.
Pink eye has like 800+ hours in the game, the lunatics who post in the forum are similar - i'm a lunatic as well I have like 250 hrs in the game

300+ here. It's one of the game's where you have a lot of freedom to tinker with different builds/party comps and decisions you make during your playthrough. After a while, it becomes a sort of a comfort game, where you know the mechanics well enough to enjoy the ride and good around with the possibilities of which there are many.

Insane? So you have total freedom?
No no the opposite of that, like being locked in a vax bed.
Or children tormenting a man stuck in a well slowly as he dies of an infection spreading from a broken leg.
This game is a Min-Maxers dream. Most of the "player submitted builds" are highly optimized / "competitive" in a meta / bragging sense: you need 3-4 playthroughs until you really know what you want and and probably 8 playthroughs to realize what is maximally possible in the extreme (- if you have read ahead on some quests on forum or Wiki). - If you truly want to play without spoilers and want to "compete" bragging wise with the most extreme builds submitted, you probably need something like 10-12 playthroughs.

The ultra high hours (600h+) are an artefact of Early Access: people doing more playthroughs / trying out more and more extreme builds (redistributing single feats / single token / single tag / single attribute points) while waiting for the next content update. (And sometimes also an artefact of falling asleep while just wanting to take a nap while the game is still running; and research via internet while the game is still running in the background.)

Once you know what you are doing, and stop reading the dialogues, you can probably still get through the game on a long weekend / three days. (I haven't played the content added in the last two months though).

This game is surely up there for most amount of possible main endings / combinations of main quests with Baldurs Gate 3 and "Life and Suffering of Sir Brante" (and some purely text based Choose-Your-Own-Adventure-Books / Games like "Choice of Robots"). To see all the possible content / usual paths through the game, you literally need like 4-5 different playthroughs.

You can do multiple "playthroughs" of "Choice of Robots" in one evening, multiple playthroughs of "Life and Suffering of Sir Brante" per weekend, multiple playthroughs of "Colony Ship" per month. (For Baldurs Gate 3 you probably need a whole month per playthrough.)

It took me 10 hours to play the demo from start to finish, exploring most of the content (but not 100% of it).

Look I don't mean to be rude but you are clearly a marmot wearing armor, I don't think your experiences will reflect the average playtimes of the standard human.

To do everything, explore everywhere, blind/with minimal help? I would say 40ish hours. I am pushing 400 hours now and I still have builds I haven't tried and paths through the options I would like to explore. I had similar in Age of Decadence and its just as great here.

I have 83 hours clocked in the beta, and I've never left Chapter 1 yet (still haven't reached the Habitat, because didn't want to spoil myself before final release). Basically if you try at least two kinds of playthroughs (like a solo and a party play) that alone will double your time, as the game plays very differently.

This is nice sounding!

Based on what I ve read in this thread I can already guesstimate that my own playtime will end up somewhere between 40-100 hrs. That s much more than I expected and when it comes to rpg:s, I do consider quantity of hrs to be a part of the quality of the thing. :cybereye:

The only way you are getting a playthough of 20 hrs is if you use the easy difficulty and a talker build, imho. I think a more realistic 'seeing most content' playthrough would *easily* chock in around 40 hours if not a bit more, especially going in blind on your first run at it. Don't expect to be able to do 'everything' and play to your character or party's strengths and it'll be a very enjoyable experience, trying to be a murderhobo with a social or skill monkey build is going to be frustrating (but can absolutely be done with experience).
