How to use the Guns, lots of guns feat?

Recently, I have seen some player builds which utilize this feat. My question is simple: do you use multiple different guns or simply take the feat and use tokens to make the numbers go up?

I used tokens, then very late into the game used the actual guns to increase skills which were reasonably close to a level-up.

The best use of it I found was getting multiple guns skills to level 3 or so. That only costs 100 combat xp total and when your main skill is already at 6 or 7 this is an easy way to get some cheap accuracy out of it.
