What is your preferred way to free the spy? Bug?
I used to go with Sneaking and perfect takedowns for the thrill of it and for optimizing Faythe's untagged Sneak lp, but that "only" earns 75 lp sneak for Faythe and 60 lp CS, plus all the loot though (Frankenstein Gas Mask; some 130 credits and quite a lot of pieces of intact armor and weaponry - though no unique items).

If I go with talking / bullshitting my way out (e.g. Impersonation 7), I get 3x132 talking lp = 396 lp (Zen Mutation, no Skillmonkey), but no loot.

If I go with opening the hatch, Faythe gets 250 lp in Electronics and no loot either.



Only talking gives me an immediate skillup (Persuasion and Streetwise to 8).

Taking Electronics would help me catch up Electronics skill to Computers skill quite well (250 Electronics is like 12.5 "normal" electronics checks after all...).

Sneak and CS don't really move the needle much, but it is a thing of principle to never waste sneaking opportunities. And selling loot always helps affording all the good grenades and Energy Cells and Overclocks...


In the current game state, it probably does not prevent me from getting anything either way, but who knows: maybe some nice Electronics checks get introduced later on...

Also: for all the sneaking I did in Chapter one, I missed out on quite some diplomatic / talking lp, and the difference between 396 lp vs 75 lp (+60 CS) would seem like a good deal to make up for some of that...


P.S.: Sometimes it is hard to be a Min-Max-type player...

I could do the sneak and loot and still get the Electronics Hatch escape.
Looks like a bug (Spy thanking me two times)? Even double quest xp? (can't increase the size of the log window though, so that only part of the earned lp and xp is visible at the same time)

Edit 2: I am having a bit of a problem reproducing it. I have to do the the 2x"Return to Buford? / No" dance to even get control over Faythe to do the looting (- same problem as in all previous versions of the game, as the rest of the group is still outside the room). But then I can't really switch back to the rest of the crew, and the Hatch is "Out of Range".

If I don't do the "Return to Bufford"-Dance at the door, I am still in control of the outside group and can activate the Hatch / do the Electronics check (although Faythe technically is still in the other room), but then I have to leave the loot behind. (- but at least I get the Sneak / CS lp PLUS the Electronics lp.)

But somehow I once managed to get the loot and still be in range with one of the crewmates to trigger the hatch... - which is the version I haven't been able to reproduce yet. - Not sure what I would have to do to get control of the outside crew back to get into reach of the hatch after control had passed to Faythe...

EDIT 3: turns out: doing the Bufford dance at the door allows me not only to switch to Faythe active, but also if done again allows to switch back to MainChar active again. - So I finally did reproduce it.

Iron Tower want my save now?

(I guess nobody else is reporting these things, because I am the only one doing 3 Takedowns in the Spy Escape / Turret room? - I am pretty sure there was another thread where I showed how to do it... - damn, I should keep bookmarks.)

Did it with bulshitting my way through, pure combat with/without turrets, perfect takedown with prior turret deactivation and hatch escape.

Afaik each should award the same amount of lp total, no?

Wait: maybe the problem with my switchingfof active crew members and the closed doors / split crew is, that I did not deactivate the turrets but programmed them for combat and then did the takedowns still without ever entering combat? Need to do some more testing.

Edit: turret hacking or deactivating does nothing different.

But this time I was able to reproduce the hack where I got all three: perfect Sneak / Takedown-run PLUS loot everything PLUS switch to active crewmembers outside to get the Hatch in range / get the additional Electronics lp and the 2nd time Spy-Thank-You-Speech...

Not sure why the "Return to Buford" / "No" dance at the door sometimes works at first try for switiching between Faythe and MC and sometimes not... - this time it worked both ways with just one "Return to Buford" / "No" try.


P.S.: as described the reward in lp and loot DOES vary depending on what route you take... - if you add up 75+60+250=385 one might argue that 385 is pretty similar to 396: so maybe I should not feel bad about getting Sneak/CS AND Electronics in the end... - still feels like bug though.
