PC burning up
Does anyone have the same issue? My PC fans are working harder and louder then while playing Witcher 3 or FF_XV on max settings. Any kind of help or tip with graphic setting would be much apprecitated.
Im also getting this message at the start of game: "The installed version of the NVIDIA graphics driver has known issues. Please update to the latest driver version"
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070
Installed 461.40
Recommended: 441.20

Time to open her up. Hardware troubleshooting can be a real pain. I suggest first making sure there isn't dust build up. Usually the most easiest one to check and fix. It's not rare for fans to get dusty over time and for the card overheat as a result.

For drivers. Uninstall the current one completely: https://www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-driver-uninstaller-download.html

Nividia support thread: https://forums.guru3d.com/threads/display-driver-uninstaller-thread.379506/

Then download the most recent Nividia driver for the card and install it: https://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx

Good luck. Worst comes to shove. Take it to a shop nearby and have a technician look at it.

Try capping FPS through NVidia settings, some games, not sure about Colony Ship run uncapped FPS especially during menus which can make your fans whirl.

Hello, and thank you for reply.
Following your suggestion ive updated my drivers via Geforce Experience to v497.29
The startup message is gone =)
also the fans seems to be working a lot chiller
also Mr. HuggyBear, my GFexp does not detect Colony Ship so i can not make any changes via this application, but ty for the great advise
cheers mates, i think problem is kinda solved, have fun in the game and remember to follow the God will and join the Church ;)

God bless, lol. Glad you got it to work.

You can via Nvidia Control Panel. Search it up on windows search bar. Then go program settings, select the executable for Colony Ship, then cap the FPS:

That is a nice hax you did there, my problem was with the insane GPU usage in comparison to other games, like 3A ones. Like i said, it looks like ive had, not up to date, drivers (im such a tard ), but anyways, ive been trying ur method with the Nvidia Control Panel, and it gave me a lot ideas to fix issues in some other games
TY for your help friend, have a wonderfull 2022, cheers =)

mine does the same thing, only its not dusty and i have the latest drivers.(497.29) my card is an rtx 2060 super. i dropped all the settings to medium and turned off post processing and nothing changes. i did not limit the fps though...i will try it.

i play other games full blast and i cant even hear my fans turn on with those
Pink Eye Dec 25, 2021 @ 8:51am
Hmm. Do you have any background applications running? Open up task manager and see if anything else is stressing your system out besides the game.

Updating the drivers help me a lot, i mean its not perfect. The game still is eating my PC like Witcher 3 on max, but it is much better.
Since you already have the 497.29 driver, i cant help you much im affraid.
PS. I did not played with the fps limit, hopefully it will help you

Follow this guide on how to limit the frame rate (it's very easy to do and makes a huge difference)

https://www.howtogeek.com/509097/how-to-set-a-maximum-frame-rate-in-nvidias-drivers/

Also check VSYNC box in the game's settings.
Taar Dec 25, 2021 @ 12:04pm
Checking the VSYNC solved the rest of my problems, now the PC is running as it should be.
Thank You for the advise =)
big ron Dec 25, 2021 @ 1:13pm
well thanks pink and vince, all i had to do is limit it to 60 fps in the geforce settings (i also checked the box in settings) and its all fine now, no fans at all. and i am back to all ultra settings so thanks and merry christmas to you taar maybe you should do the fps limit if youre still having issues
Pink Eye Dec 25, 2021 @ 1:28pm
By the way, you guys should check the hardware cursor in option settings of game. It seems to make a bit of difference for me. Cursor feels faster to move around compared to unchecking it and using software cursor. This setting:

I sure will try the FPS limit Mr Big Ron (ty), and i will check the cursor that Mr Pink is talking about. Anyway i think the thread is closed, hopefully anyone with similar issues will read this and find a proper solution.
Once again, thank you very much for all the support and advices you guys gave me =)
Merry Xmas and Happy new one =)
