Neural Resistance efficacy
So I'm trying to clear out the two mind worms on level 4 of Mission Control. This is my first solo attempt, and despite having a pretty wicked character, I am having a great deal of trouble with these two. I have the shot from Miriam in Hydroponics and one Zen stimulant, which combined gives 60 Neural Resistance. I give myself the shot prior to going into the fight, but I inevitably get panicked by one of the two and then have no backup Zen. I've tried it the other way around, but it only delays the problem: you are pretty much guaranteed to get panicked again the turn after, which destroys your AP, which means you can't kill them fast enough to get out of the loop. It doesn't seem like there are enough (or effective enough) countermeasures against panic.

Stasis nades. That's how you beat em'. Also, when you start the fight. Position your solo dude here:

Frogs will block line of sight from worms. Should look something like this:

Do not immediately eliminate the frogs. Instead. Use the time to recover from the panic state - if you're using energy shield with good helmet and leg armor. The frogs will do 0 damage to you. Thus allowing you to spend all the time in the world getting ready to kill the worms. I usually wait until I have full AP. Then I stasis two worms. Rush the first one down. With Second Wind + Aggro Stim. You should have more than enough AP to finish the fight out.

Of course. The frogs blocking line of sight from panic ability is an exploit; will be fixed by the developers soon.

They're talking about the 2 worms not the 3 plus frogs battle.

In a future update, Neural Resistance will also be tied to your CHA stat (and possibly INT).

If playing a solo character, you'll want high CON to be able to tank the damage, high-ish DEX and an alternative source of AP, for instance from [Second Wind] or from Aggro stims. As Pink Eye said, stasis grenades are also great.

I also managed to do the fight with a relatively non-combat solo character by using energy pistols, even if you're not particularly skilled with them.

In addition, you can always bring along a companion to act as a human shield. Evans has 50 HP and has an air of worm food about him, and if your character isn't panicked he doesn't even have to die.

In that case. Use stasis nades. Panic is kind of random with how it can deplete AP in first round. I think effects from Zen Stim stack? So maybe use more than one for the encounter. You just need to survive the first two attacks.
