Can't get gold brick in Neuva York due to bug

There is a bug in Nueva York with the gold brick under ground where you have to heat 3 barrels, fix a machine, then throw caps shield. When I throw caps shield, it bounces to the red circles but does not hit the glass or the shield holder behind the glass. It just retraces its step and comes back to cap.
