Lemuria Tentacle Glitch

I've made probably 2 dozen attempts at it so far, trying for the gold brick (which is the last thing I need for 100%) The tentacles themselves seem to glitch, appearing in multiple locations and not reacting to attacks, the archway cannot be brought down at times, and has just become an overall frustrating mess. Any suggestions at this point? Because I really don't want to leave the game with 1 thing left to complete it.

Hey, I know 2 years have passed since you posted this. But I was playing the game and I had the exact same problem with the tentacles and was very frustating. So, I was trying to find a solution just like you. I tried reinstalling the game, and also removing a mod that a I had to show me PlayStation buttons, but that didn't work. But I remembered that I did that puzzle in the past, so I knew there had to be something preventing the tentacles to work as intented. And then i found out the SOLUTION, Vertical Sync must be turned off for this puzzle. I usually prefer to enable V-sync, I suppose you enabled it too, but for some unknown reason there can't be any restictions in the frames for this puzzle to work.
I hope this information helps you or anyone that has this same issue.
