Controller not Recognising

Honestly, they need to fix this ASAP. Only happens when I plug my controller in after I launch the game but there is no other fix except for restarting the game, which gets annoying.

It's always been suggested to have your controller plugged in before starting the game. Most games won't recognize a controller plugged in after the game has already been started.

I do have my controller plugged in before starting the game. Sometimes it recognises sometimes it doesn't

What I do is press 'Esc' at the menu screen then 'Start' on the controller. For me it seems to forget that I am using controller at times and default to keyboard. When I press 'Esc' it takes me back to the 'press any key' option and i activate with the controller then.

I've got a similar issue. I go to controller setup, hit change device and hit buttons on my controller and nothing. Once, I briefly saw controller inputs on the left side of the screen (player one) and then I got a "controller disconnected" message. Now no button will do anything.

This is my first time using a controller on my pc - every other lego game I've played with a keyboard but this ones a mess on KB; could someone explain what I might be doing wrong like I'm a 5-year-old. This old grognard would appreciate it.

I'm using a ps3 dual shock 3; according to my computer, it's connected just fine.

Edit: Figured it out; needed a new driver to get pc to recognize it. The only confusing thing now is that the ps3 buttons don't match the default input cues but oh well...
