Seriously, not everything works best with a mouse. You wouldn't play a rhythm game without a plastic guitar either.
If you're talking specifically about the icons alone, maybe they could have fixed that. Idk, honestly, I couldn't stand playing games like this or hollow knight with keyboard or mouse. Controllers are just way more accurate so maybe that's why the devs assumed this role, perhaps they thought the pc community would have this knowledge before playing the game. That is just my opinion though.
And yeah, I'll use a controller for lego games when console users use a mouse to play their shooters. Like Ramzes, if I wanted a controller, I'd own a console.
Just because someone is on pc, doesn't mean every game should be playable with mouse and keyboard. In fact, there are games on Steam that require a controller to play - and they are amazing games. The fact of the matter is that controllers will always be more accurate and suitable for these platformer games like this, not to mention how awkward qte's feel on a keyboard vs controller. There really isn't an argumentfor that other than "I want to use my keyboard and mouse, I don't want to use a controller".
I use mouse and keyboard for Crpg's and that's about it. Some games just work better with controller, dome games work better with mouse & keyboard... no matter how hard we try to justify personal preferences or wants.
Have you ever seen a PC software that came into consoles and not having designed controls for that specific platform? What if that happens? You gonna tell console players that they should plug in a keyboad na mouse? NO!
The game can be better with a controller but shouldn’t be awkward without one.
PCs have always had the versatility to use whatever input method required or desired.
In fact, in the 1980s, home computers like the Atari or Commodore had their own dedicated joysticks (which are now classics), derived from the arcade machines.
Even complete DIY controllers and custom drivers are no problem.
The right tool for the job.
And even if I don't like this silly elitism:
Welcome to the PC master race!
I play with a controller on my pc, and I like the feel of a controller, but I don't want to spend like $300 on a console, I just don't need any new tech, since games on pc probably look the best depending on your computer.
