Fast Flying Characters?

Are there some characters that fly faster than others?

I'm trying to win a fairly short race (gold time is 35 seconds) and I've flown it flawlessly with about 5-6 different characters, but I always complete it in 44 - 44.5 seconds. There's no way to shave 10 seconds off the race without a character who flies a lot faster than normal...

I find Wasp to be marginally faster, but harder to steer. Cap'n Marvel tends to be my go-to, though. Without knowing which tracks you're trying to run (so to speak), are you sure they're not intended for vehicles?

I've tried with Captain Marvel (plus Black Bolt, Iron Man, Doctor Strange, Star Lord, and Thor), but not Wasp. I'll give her a shot.

I suppose it could be a course that needs a flying vehicle, but races that need a vehicle usually show you an icon for the specific vehicle at the starting gate if one is required. Are there planes with faster flying speeds than characters?

The track in question is a flying one that starts near the coliseum in Shaakar, if that matters.

Figured it out!

30+ hours into the game and I've only JUST NOW learned that you can double-tap the A button to engage speed boosters on flying characters. D'oh!
