Crashes Window Manager on Startup (Linux)

I got the game to run successfully once. (The game started in full screen, but I switched to windowed mode, which I prefer). Now it crashes (followed by a window manager crash, which forced me to log in again) every time I try.

I've added the -force-opengl and -screen-fullscreen 0 switches a suggested in the pinned post, but this does not change the behavior.

I'm running Ubuntu Linux 18.04 and all of the libraries/drivers are up to date. I also have a dual monitor setup.
