Well there be a Middle Kingdom and New Kingdom Egypt game?
Just wondering since it been nearly 3 years since Old Kingdom released. Also if the Middle Kingdom and New Kingdom is released will there be games for Egyptian History after the New Kingdom to the end of the Ptolemaic Kingdom?

We wanted to make a sequel, but we ran into the problem that making games like Predynastic Egypt and Old Kingdom is quite difficult, on the other hand, players constantly complain that they lack replayability. Additional complexity is introduced by the fact that the Middle, New Kingdom, etc. are much better known to science. All this caused the demand to qualitatively change the approach to the development of the game, this put the studio to experiments, which haven't been completed so far.

I mainly got these games because I like time and resource management games I don't care that much how historically accurate these games are. Game can be fun to play even when its not fully historical.

Do a better job at making games? No? Let's blame players' expectations? Ok then.

That's an absurd way of looking at it. There's an essential tension between making something historical and making it replayable, because the more you allow the player to change what happens, the less historical it actually is. Sounds to me like they're at least trying to respond to player's expectations, not blaming them.

That's a shame. I didn't buy this game for replayability, but for the historical appeal having no knowledge of the setting. I think you did well on this topic, especially with the missions and tasks that come with some background explanation of what happened and briefly why. That clearly improved the historical aspect compared to pre-dynastic.

With that said I didn't feel like the game was too short, the different settings allow to tweak the game and the procedural generation of some game elements allowed to make replaying it enjoyable still.

Yes it is. Sadly as of right now there no more developments to the game. It is actually my favorite paradox game, until they do a game set before the start of IR of course because to me the older start the better.
