Energy is the KEY, baby! (ENERGY STRAT)

So I thought that the chemical resource was by far the best material to gather in the start, having the ability to craft soup and such, but energy is actually way better to get at the start.

If you're able to get +40 energy during the 60 seconds (75 seconds if you're playing Best Boy Emmet), you'll be able to upgrade the crafting system on day 2 and start crafting essential items. Instead of waiting for days crafting items in the late game and possibly ruining your run, you can start the first ten days crafting stuff without any time constraints or penalties.

Downfall to this startegy is that you also need to get rock material as well as some chemicals to start crafting items right away. Thank god Emmet has the ability to pull materials from "sources yet to be identified".

Also, you really don't need to get the Mr. Moo statue, duct tape, the clunky communicator or the lighter since all of them can be crafted very easily at any point.

Hopefully this helped out any newcomers to this game. I actually won my first game doing this with only Emmet and Tom on Robotofu. It's tough but you gotta master the resource management!

btw is it even possible to win with 4 peeps? alive? on any planet? :/

And how do you get new energy in-game? I am stucked in a planet (^Phobonos) without the possibility to upgrade my expedition system and only can go to 3 places, that only gives me a looot of rocks (or nothing)...

You can dismantle (recycle) items for minor energy gain, or craft/find a battery and carry it into an expedition. The crew will usually pickup some energy with the battery (~10-15).

I survived first run with emmet, tom, angel, and baby! BROKEN BEATEN AND HALF STARVING, but i got there no man left behind!

i always take the ressource first and then i grab item after cuz 30 chemical 30 mineral 30 energie + 30 random ressource

if you play as tom, ALWAYS pick an agility speech so you generate energy, use the energy to upgrade your expedition suit so you have access to 1 day cost expeditions. this can be used to instantly get your captain's goal which will give you the fulfilled state (+1 for every stat).

I gotta say, having a strong, flexible, and genius captain is nice and his hoarder ability can be used to generate soup cans while the crafting module is upgrading. He's pretty underrated to be honest
