Some Suggestions
I'm really digging this game but I was wondering if you could make two minor changes.

I like controlling units but when you do so and have an airforce, it can be tricky to keep the airplanes in the air if you take control of a unit for too long, in bigger battles this can lead to defeat. I was just wondering if you add an automation system for the aircraft. for example, the player picks a plane and than it will keep on trucking till it dies.

the other cool addtion would be a death match mode . where the player has a 100 units for example and the bugs have 300 and who ever hits zero first, loses.

planes attack automatically their target and when they are out of ammo return to control tower.
what do you suggest us?

My idea about the plane. Was they go out use their ammo. They go back to the control tower but they can't leave it on their own. I think it would make sense for them to automactically deploy on their own.

Steps
1. Order plane
2. Shows up in control tower
3. player deploys it
4. it runs out of ammo
5. (New) after refuling, it goes out without the player telling it too

When in control of units, you can't deploy planes, so automating the process makes sense to me.

I have some cool suggestions for this game i would like to get out into the world. First, for the battles and/or mission, some new ideas would be King of the Hill: like capture the points but its one big point. An enemy army could be attacking, and they use the tan toy soldiers for units. Defend your convoy and get extra resources if successful. Last Stand: bugs come at you like relentless zombies attacking a bunker, and you have to wait for the toxic carpet-bombers to arrive. And Lastly, some small units slipped through your defenses and got to your base, and you have to defend it successfully, or else your resources get set back a turn. Also for some unit suggestions i have a few: Hercules Beetle: really tough, and can throw some lighter weight units around. Caterpillar/Centipede: Really long, some can have a venomous-fuzzy coating, while other larger ones could perhaps die by each segment. Jumping Spider: a jumping spider. And lastly, a Dung Beetle: It takes a long time for this to happen, but it basically builds a boulder as it rolls along, and the bigger it is, the more damage it does, at the same time giving it miniscule ammounts of armor every time it grows in size.
