Well, not much of a difference for 30gb of textures, especially on the second screen, and it's more a change in color than an actual ugrade in quality, still a welcome adition, but nothing stellar.

well it's easy to spot a tiny increase in sharpness but yeah, even in an absolute close-up the change is rather small.

well, if I can sacrifice a few GB to play the best possible version of Resonance of Fate, I shalt do that. there's nothing more to say.

It's extremely noticeable in motion though, there's a lot of extra detail on everything. Don't treat it as a 4k texture pack though it's just high settings instead of PS3 settings.

Is it just sharpened and filtered textures then? can't tell exactly, but that's what it looks like to me.

Can you show close-ups of the characters? These environment shots aren't really convincing me.

Well. if I'm forgiven for saying, I had my concerns watching the videos on the steam page. which are quite frankly an ugly mess, but this settles it.

30 GB for that difference is ridiculous, and they don't even bother their arse coding an exit option. There's no way a second purchase of this is worth it. I'll content myself sticking with my PS3 version.

The gameplay is quite fun but the story is shockingly sparse and obtuse, the only reason to buy this would have been a drastic difference in visual quality, and it's simply not there.

Yeah, the 4k texture pack isn't worth bothering with. It just adds some sharpness, which in turn actually makes the game look more grainy/ noisy, which is a slightly more harsh look.

The frame rate is solid 60fps and although you might not see a drastic difference in those 4 images, a resolution nine times higher than the PS3's with higher resolution textures is a massive gain in image quality. That's before using Reshade too.

I've owned the PS3 version since around when it came out but I never played it because of how ugly it was on the console. It looks significantly better on PC and the only thing I can complain about is that the resolution is locked to 4k so there's still some aliasing.

The high gb count will be in part due to the pre rendered videos bundled in this game.
I haven’t seen it first hand but I’d imagine that’s where the biggest difference in quality can be seen? Test it out.

The movie folder isn't even 6gb. It's all textures.

And does the movie folder change size when you install the texture pack?

I don't know but it disproves your theory quite a bit!

4k textures don't make much difference when you're looking at things at a medium distance in 1920x1080.

Well... okay.

movies are CG pre rendered so 4k textures pack have nothing to do with it
but it affects in game cutscene

The 4K pre-rendered movies come with the basic version without the texture pack anyway, the texture pack is literally only textures for rendering in-game
