Black screen

Whenever i launch the game, it gives me a black screen, no intro, nothing, how do I fix this?

How are you launching the game? Try going into your steam directory...into the CMS2018 folder and r-click the CMS2018.exe then choose 'run as administrator' option. Also, can try launching in steam library using the play button and choose 'run in exclusive fullscreen mode.'

Ok, not sure where the files are stored on Mac...maybe someone Mac savvy can chime in there.

For steam launch, load steam library, select CMS2018 so it's showing in library. There should be a "Play" button in steam library for the game. Using it, a popup window with options to choose from should show......select the "Run in Exclusive Fullscreen Mode" option.

In the pop up menu, it only has:

Play Car Mechanic Simulator 2018
Play with Metal API
Safe mode (no mods)
Reset settings

Hmm.....must be different cuz yer on a Mac. Have you tried using the 'Reset settings' option by chance? Should try running in 'Safe mode' and see if it works then.

Tried both, nothing happens, I have even tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app, even that doesn't work.

It took me like a minute to start the game, just give it some time i guess, I'm also on a mac, m1 pro

When you uninstall.....do you go into your system and remove the folders / files that get left behind? Are you using a compatibility layer.....Like Linux uses Proton....to run windows game's? I'm not really familiar with Mac but, I know a bit about Linux and from what I understand....they're like cousins in the programming world so.....idk...don't you have to use it? If so, I know in Linux with some games, we have to revert to earlier versions to make them work just right. Not often but, it is helpful sometimes.

What did you do to get the game to start? I cant get past launching the app. I just get a black screen, no sound or picture. Do I have to change any video settings? Are you also using a 14inch macbook pro? (M1 PRO)

On another note, the game still dosnt start and steam wont refund me becuase i tried to get the game to run for too many hours.

That kinda sucks. I've heard of Steam making exceptions to the 2 hour rule for situations like this. Maybe you just have to keep trying with them and explain why it took you more than 2 hours time trying to get this to work......like cuz you REALLY REALLY wanted it to work...idk.

Another thing to consider.....at least you'll have it in your library should you upgrade to a different system in the future I guess. Sorry to hear you couldn't get it working though. I had a lot of fun with this game.
