Bolt Atlanta Supercharged has no hood? Either a bug or an oversight
When I got to level 13 I found a Bolt Atlanta Supercharged in a barn, bought and rebuilt with catalog parts. I noticed that there was no hood on the car? All I could find in the body shops were just the plain Atlanta hood, and it wouldn't let me assemble that hood onto the body. I thought maybe it was the supercharger? So when I re-built the engine I made it into a Ford 385, and by all appearances it looked like it would fit fine with the standard hood but even with the engine swap I couldn't put a hood on. I was wanting to keep the car as a memento of the first car I rebuilt from junk in this game and later paint it when I leveled up but this irritated me enough I just sold it for a $15k turnaround.

Is it normal for car variants with Superchargers to have no hood? Is there any way around that without modding? Or is this a bug/oversight that needs to be looked into?

Thank you for clarifying, went nuts trying to look this up on a few search engines but since you said it's a new feature that explains why I saw no mention of this.

I just noticed this myself, it's the same with the Bolt Cape Supercharged - no hood. Will this be updated or are we stuck with having no hood? I preferred my supercharged Atlanta to be fully clothed! :(

When you look at 'car info' on the car, it should be showing something is missing...grayed out. Or else, there is something still under the required 'condition' allowed for job completion. Most time it's bushings that get missed. Or....Fuel pumps in fuel tank, radiator fan(s) + housing's, air cleaner boxes and / or clips, or distributor cap clips.
Edit: also people tend to miss clutch plate assy. parts cuz you have to split the gearbox from the Engine to get to those. Some of that should show up as faulty if you did a drive test at the test track.

It's a bummer, I hate to have this car without a hood.

You can change this if you want..... look up the ID for bolt atlanta hood and change the body config file from hood=empty to hood= (the hoods id) then save the file. I believe in the custom body shop there is a hood with the hole cut-out for a supercharged engine. Look up that hood id and use it if you don't want the SC clipping through.

Oh! thanks very much!

Unfortunately there is no hood with a cutout, that's why it's been taken off the supercharged variant. Yes, you can add the hood, by removing the
hood=EMPTY
line from the config-file, but you will have the air scoop clipping through the hood.

To sum this up:
Only four cars have a hood with a cutout
  • Bolt Hellcat
  • Bolt Reptila
  • Salem Spectre Fastback
  • Tempest Magnum

Then we have the aforementioned Bolt Atlanta and also the Bolt Cape, that have the "Supercharged" variant without the hood. But if you'd change this in the bodyconfig-file, you'd have the same problem like with all the other cars, without an appropriate hood. The only exception is the Smith 1500 XL of all cars, because the supercharged engine fits in its enormous engine bay.

edit:
I heavily edited the last chapter, after I realized, that the list of cars that don't have a hood with a cutout for the air scoop is way longer, than a list of the cars, that do, since there are actually only four.
