way to improve grip in cars?
si im trying to improve the grip in che cars im building, anything above like 500 hp and the tires are non stop spinning no matter how much i feather the throttle, every gear change causes the tyres to spin even if i do manage to get control of it. i've tried changing tyre size to bigger or wider, all the cars ive been racing are 100% on everything, its getting rather anoying. is there anything in the config files that i can change to fix it?

Yup one line change in config, transmissionType=4x4. Does not matter what engine or other parts you got on car, it changes nothing but the behavior of the car. It is now awd and will haul ass and handle 5x better. Makes driving the cars fun. If you notice some of the mods that people compliment on the great handling of the car, look at that cars config, 4x4... Only cars I have that are rwd are the stock versions of cars I love, I have a 4x4 of every single car..

ah, its a shame thats the only way, i like rwd cars and want to keep them that way, a restomod 1965 mustang should be rwd really not 4x4. will change it and see what its like.

Oh I agree, would love some real driving controls, which is the real culprit here, input. They can always be changed back to RWD with one tiny edit. Hopefully someday the cars will actually be drivable without..

I just tested the 4x4 modify suggested by HDBanger, on my Salem spectre SR, and speed track results are interesting. In this car I installed the Chevrolet Corvette C7R Engine (mod), V8 turbo tuned by me. On the Spectre SR power is 1362 hp and monster 1667 N.m. Speed track results are better with 4x4 with one exception, the 0-300, wich is worst. Normal Rwd: max speed:315, 0-100 km/h: 2,78, 0-200 km/h: 6,417, 0-300 Km/h: 12,034. With 4x4: max speed: 304, 0-100 Km/h 1,983, 0-200 Km/h: 5,633, 0-300 Km/h: 12,367. I use xbox controller for pc, and I try to partialize throttle at start, without 4x4, to ensure the best grip possible. of course with 4x4 grip is a lot better, but you lose something 0-300. And could be realistic.

This isnt for the speed track, its for the race track, where you actually have to turn, quite a lot. Take the same car on race track , compare lap times from RWD to FWD to 4x4. It is NO fun driving powerful cars on the race track without 4x4.. A 1000 hp car with rwd I can get about a 49-50 second lap time, fighting the car the whole way. Same car 4x4, 44 seconds laptime and a hell of a lot more fun.

what do you mean about the vette engine? theres an engine mod out or do you just mean that you changed the engine in the config to an existing in game engine that looks like a vette engine? and a tuned turbo? didnt know there was a v8 turbo, also didnt know you could tune parts yet, i know you can get tuning parts but dont know anything about tuning parts yourself? ive been away from the game for a while so maybe ive missed something.

The Corvette is a car mod, you can download from workshop ( corvette C7R). I just tuned this vette with normal tuning parts of the game. After this I installed this engine on a Salem spectre SR ( Ford Mustang GT renamed in config.file). SWorks fine, but the funny thing is that same engine, on the Corvette have about 1.060 Hp, mounted on the Mustang is 1362Hp :-) http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1269365944
About turbo, is my mistake, I was meaning V8 Volumetric Compressor, sorry. :-)

This is because of the scale of the engine in config file of said car. If you took a 1.1 scale v8 out of the c7r and put it in the mustang that said had a 1.3 scale engine, no matter if you swap diff engine of same, it will always be that scale. And with scale comes power, huge diff in 1.1 to 1.3 in displacement, and the game accounts for it. Also could be the stang had diff exhaust with more perf parts etc..

I see, thank you very much.

ooh, by turbo, you mean supercharger, makes sense now, thought there was some hidden turbo v8 engine i didnt know about. didnt know scaling up the engine changes the hp, thats a cool little feature, will help with my drag cars.

Was easy: drained engine oil, dismounted drive shaft, gearbox and starter; then with the crane I did the change. that's all

the spectre sr and the c7r use the same engine, the supercharged modern v8, so it can straight swap, thats all, the standard spectre isnt a supercharged version which maybe you have.

I just can't understand how to remove or reduce rpm limiter. if I lower the final end ratio nothing change...
