So, yeah, there are some improvements and added features. But, it is more or less the same game. If you are trying to chose which one to buy, you're main consideration might be.....which one has more content NOW and / or are you willing to wait for more content.
CMS18 has a ton of mods and DLC vs CMS21 is currently lacking in mods and DLC--but it is coming....eventually.
Auction house is lot better and easier to use. Wrecks at junkyard are more interesting with partially missing components etc.
Only downside is the new garage with no display floors like they had in 2018 but hopefully they will add it in future.
This is way better than 2018 which loaded all of the parts at one time which is a disaster if you have a lot of mods downloaded
