Saving a custom paintjob???

Are you able to save the custom paintjob on this delray I found in the auction because the rust isnt coming off with the welder

If there's still rust on the car, it's on the body parts, that you'd have to take off of the body and repair separately on the repair bench. But that's only possible, if your skill level is above 35, you have the necessary skill unlocked and the overall condition of the panel is above 15%. If you can't repair the panels or they break while trying you have to buy new ones and repaint the car in your paint booth.
You can choose between the "original" or the "current" color and you might have to flip through the liveries to restore the custom paint job you found the car in. But that shouldn't be a problem.

If you put the car in question into the paint booth then opt to paint the car, write down the numbers showing for the current paint job...... Saturation, Hue, & Tint--or whatever they're calling it. Then when you want to repaint a car, you can just move the sliders to get those same numbers. And / Or do what Teddy said.......this is just additional fyi.
