So is there engine swapping and turbocharging in this game yet or not?
I've let this game sit for two years, can I finally turbocharge my Typhoon now, and if so how?

There is engine swapping. I haven't built a typhoon in a long while, so not sure if you can add a turbocharged engine in-game to that particular car. There is a list of engine swaps in the game for certain vehicles when you look at their profiles. You can also use the car editor if you want to add a whole new engine to the vehicle that wouldn't otherwise be interchangeable in-game.

Pretty sure there is also a guide which tells you how to add more swap options to config file such as DLC engines gives you correct name etc

Game was never designed to have in depth engine customisation

I can assure you dev are aware so can only hope in future version they allow this or atleast allow modders to add engine parts

You'll also see the year of the make in the car editor, if you want to add that to the config too. They didn't add that to all config files, for whatever reason. I don't know if that's for every vehicle though.

I just looked at a DC Typhoon I have stored in the Parking Lot. One of the engine swaps is a duel-carb Supercharged V8. If you want turbochargers, you'll have to do that in the editor with another engine.

So... "No" then? I did mean adding a supercharger, that's what the swap thing said I could do and it's what I have the parts for. I just can't seem to add those parts to the engine on the crate instead of the stock intake manifold etc.

So, yes...

You will need to build a new engine from scratch on the engine stand to swap engines.

Unfortunately, you cannot modify one engine into another, you have to build each dedicated engine from scratch regardless of the fact that multiple engines actually share many of the same parts.

YES! I finally figured that out late last night, I had forgotten there was a "build new engine" option on the crate. Thank you. So I DID supercharge the Typhoon, looks 100/10, handles like you tied a solid-state rocket to a sparrow. One question though: do I as the player need to unlock different engines either as I level up or as I encounter them on cars? I ask because that same Typhoon also takes a Windsor engine which I was interested in as I thought it might let me keep the hood on the car. However I couldn't find the Windsor on the list of buildable engines on the crate. Is there another name that it could be on there under?

I believe you may need the Ford dlc for the Winsor engine to appear.

Dogwalker1 is correct. That is a Ford dlc content motor.
