Do DLC cars also appear on the scrapyard and in the barns?
Hello!
If I get a DLC car brand, say Mercedes or Mazda, for example, these DLC cars will also appear on the scrapyard and in the barns, or are they only available in customer orders?

Yes they Do if you are wondering. "Not" All the time tho But they will appear in Auctions/yard/sheds/the car shop. Hope this has been helpful to you.

Not all vehicles will show up everywhere. A Ford F350, for instance, will only spawn in the Auction or the Salon, but you won't find it in a Barn or the Junkyard. Depends on the vehicle designation in the config files. You can change these manually if you want them to show up everywhere. They still won't show up every time. Gotta deal with the RNG, but you will come across something eventually, if you revisit each location after going back to the garage. Sometimes, you might get what you're looking for on the first visit. Other times, might take you 20 visits to get what you're looking for.

Also, you can always exit out to the main menu and reload your save to reset the random generation. That might get you what you want a bit quicker. But it might not. Cheers. ;)

I got the Mercedes DLC. I hope that all the cars included in this DLC can also be found in the barns and on the scrapyard. Your idea of leaving the game without saving with the hope of eventually hitting the desired vehicle may go well. But you know for every extra barn visit and for every extra scrapyard visit you pay money. So and let's say I travel 20 times to the scrapyard without success. Then I would have spent 10000 dollars on nothing and if you look at it like that there are also old run-down vehicles for the money on the scrapyard with luck. So I prefer to travel only as often as I have barn cards or I take a car right the first time. Because, after all, I want to make money and not lose money!

There's an option in the settings menu to disable the travel fees. If you don't have a lot of money, it's good for that. I've never turned them off, but that option is there if you need it.

I rarely do the reload method, but it has helped before. I just thought I'd mention it as an option, too.

The Gullwing, 500E, 560SEC, and Pagoda can be found in the Auction, Barn, and Junkyard.
The SLS AMG can be found in the Auction and the Car Salon (dealership).

Hope this all helps. ;)

(Also, 20 trips to the Junkyard, at 250 a trip, would be 5,000. I'm using dollars, though. Maybe you're using a different currency.)

I have enough money soon 300k there I don't need to activate anything you mean. So with me it costs 500 dollars if I want to go to the scrapyard or was it only 250 dollars? I don't know anymore. I am already level 22 and now only do customer orders until I have unlocked the paint shop and the welding machine then I can really get started and restore old run-down old vehicles as if new. I think it's more fun and I earn a lot more money than I just do on customer orders.

It's 250$ for me.

Sounds like you have a good plan. Have fun. :)

You can edit the files for the cars to make them show up everywhere, that is what I did. Go to the junkyard and anything can show up, pretty funny seeing a Bentley all rusted up and broken in a heap, then fix her up to look good as new

I don't do that. Because that's very unrealistic you understand? The game is supposed to be somewhere also based on reality, it makes little sense when you see a Mercedes Benz SLS AMG half-slaughtered on the scrapyard. Because in reality this would be very unusual because who is already scrapping an SLS AMG?

Actually, people wreck cars all the time. It's quite common to find newer cars in the junkyards....at least here in the USA it is. In real life, the newest cars will usually get restored to like new by opportunistic mechanic's but, you can find them just the same. And, this game is all about working on and restoring cars. So, why wouldn't you expect to be able to find ANY car in-game in the junkyard? I use the "Allowed Places" mod and set ALL cars to show up in Junkyard personally.

Coming from a former European who now lives in America, I get a chuckle at how many people buy European-spec cars expecting to be able to drive them fresh off the boat, with no training, no mentoring, no idea about how powerful they can be, etc.

Indeed, Americans are always wrecking newer cars, particularly ones they have no idea how to drive beyond the fact that they saw it in a video game and thought it would be cool to own one. I believe the record for wrecking one was a little over four minutes, in Los Angeles, of course. Idiot bought a supercar, couldn't control it, and crashed it into a concrete median divider.

Yeah, you'll easily find newer cars in junkyards in America. Simply put, they can't drive worth stink. Maybe NASCAR drivers, but they tend to drive in circles and only turn left. That was for my Texas friend, who has heard that particular phrase from me many times over the years. :D

And the newer vehicles will yield a huge profit if you buy them from the Junkyard. I don't use any mods, but I imagine it does the same thing as manually changing the config files, maybe?

Of course it can be that you find a sports car in reality on the scrapyard. So I don't live in the USA but I live in Germany because it would be very unusual if you find something like that on the scrapyard.

It depends on where you are in the USA. I'm in the midwest, so you're not gonna find any Pagani supercars around here, let alone in a junkyard. Hahaha. Might find them in some coastal cities, though. I just like having them all show up in the Junkyard. It's just more fun and diverse, and you can make a lot more cash. That's just me, though.

Let's say it so naturally in Car Mechanic Simulator 18 it's also about buying the money as cheap as possible parts to make a lot of profit afterwards, but if you get an advantage by a setting that is not in the game by default I find that boring. So everyone can see it the way they want it to be, I'm playing the way the game was developed and no different. And besides, to explain it again, I do not live in the USA but I live in Germany. There will certainly be no Pagani on the scrapyard because, firstly, the employees would probably not allow such an expensive car to scrap it. If that's common with you in the U.S. that there are people who have something like that scrapped then they have to be really rich people.
