FPS and Mouse Lag Resolved- XMP Was Shut Off
I have played this game for years and the game always ran like a gem. I recently started playing again and the game performs like trash. I have a awesome computer, same computer I have always played on and my system far exceeds the requirements. My drivers are up to date, I have verified the integrity of the game files and even tried re-installing the game even though steam stated the integrity was good. I have high speed cable internet with a new router so my connect is good.

I have changed the graphics settings to low and medium but I use to play on High and also tried playing with Vsync on and off makes no difference, The FPS is like 30 on the main screen and when I enter the garage the game runs at like 8 to 12 FPS always. And the mouse seems like it's a slug and it's extremely annoying. It's so painful just to move your mouse pointer around while in the garage and in the tablet purchasing parts and working on a car. I also went in to my control panel on my OS Windows 10 and moved the mouse to high speed and noting in the game changed as far as the mouse moving like a slug. I also tried the controller settings in game does nothing.

I don't have any cars in my garage and I have 5 cars in the parking area. I have tried everything and just don't understand why this game use to run fantastic and now i am having so many issues, what changed, what gives?

Asus Maximus IX Extreme Motherboard
i7 7700KB - Mother Board is fine display shows code AO

64 Gigs Ram 4x16gig chip set G-Skill TridentZ 3200 - Did Ram test Ram is fine.

EVGA SuperNOVA 850 Plus Gold

EVGA GeForce GTX 1080 SC GAMING ACX 3.0, 8GB GDDR5X, LED, DX12 OSD Support (PXOC) Graphics Card 08G-P4-6183-KR

I play a multitude of games on steam that require much more then this game Like Ark Survival and they all run great. And like I stated I have played this sense it was released and it's just recently it runs like trash now and nothing has changed on my machine. I used a benchmarks program called super bench mark I believe and this machine BM at 16k+, so i know it's not the machine. I am wondering if a past update screwed something up, not sure it makes no sense.

How full is your inventory in game? The more parts you have the slower the game runs

You should be fine with 64gb ram, but that could be the cause

Aw, man. I thought you got this all worked out a week or so ago, maybe? That's a bummer again.

I never remember inventory being an issue, why would inventory be an issue and yes I have a lot of parts in my inventory I have gotten from the crates. That would really suck o have to sell them all, what good are they if i have to sell them. I saw them for my builds and repairing cars that come into the shop.

If they were in my storage will it still lag? the slow motion mouse is really a bummer, it is so hard to get anything done, they really need to fix this.

A lot of inventory will do that. Dump it all in the warehouse.

Just confirming what others said.... I was getting bad lag spikes when I first load up the game. It was taking forever to load when changing between shop, junkyard, barns, etc... Installing parts was a slow process waiting on the install/select part screen, especially on parts that need bushings or secondary parts. I did an inventory purge and the game runs great now!

Have you got anything else running in the background?

For what it's worth, my gaming mouse died recently so I used an old MS mouse as a temp. That mouse ran like an old dog in CMS but fine otherwise. Fixed my gaming mouse, put that back and now runs like a charm. I also did a video driver update somewhere inbetween too.

You won't believe this but for some reason the settings in my Bios changed and I don't know ho it happen. i went into the Bios and for some reason the XMP setting for my RAM was turned off and it was running at 21.88, what... I turned it back on and restarted and it runs awesome now.

Wow, that's super weird. Glad you finally got it running right again!

So game quality does exist

If something changed in the Bios without you making them changes, it's possible you have a virus. Should do a complete system scan. Might even do a quick scan from an AntiVirus not on your pc in case your anti-virus is also corrupted. Some anti-virus apps have an online scanner you could use for this. Some you can download to a thumb drive and run from it. Malewarebytes has a free version which does a pretty good job of finding virus's.

Yah I know I turned on XMP not sure why the setting would revert back to default and I would never have firstly thought to check that, And the first time I ran a bench mark on my computer not in the game I didn't notice that the RAM speed was changed back to default. It just goes to show you never know what will happen.

Yes I am not sure why it reverted back to default but the XMP was shut off. I also changed the posting header. Never seen the Bios settings change on their own and no one here to get access to my machine or change it. Machine did freeze up a while back and I had to unplug to reboot, not sure if that could do it.

that may be the case. Bios can get a bit wacky when you unplug the pc (Why not hard shut down via holding down the power button for multiple sec). Bios maybe thought something is wrong and went to "safe mode"
